Many of you still ask me why air plants don’t need much water to survive. It’s quite unusual compared to most plants as we know them. The secret lies in the porous leaves of air plants!
Tillandsias absorb water and nutrients through their leaves, so if you travel and can’t water them, they’re capable of taking care of themselves for a while.
However, don’t forget that we don’t have the same level of humidity as in the jungle. Once you return from your travels, your air plants will greatly appreciate a 30-minute soak and more regular misting (1-2 times per week).
Convinced to give them a try? Check out how beautiful they can look in your home!
